Ingrid Martin, principal and founder
Ingrid always loved playing in the mud and growing things. Her mother brought her into the garden at a young age, turning over care for the houseplants to her as a teen.
Though her initial degree is in Computer Science, her electives were centered in Natural Sciences. After additional studies in Ecology and Marine Science, and considering life on a research boat, Ingrid realized that being in the garden fed her soul like nothing else. She recognized her calling, integrating her love of the Earth with her daily life, passion with career, and continued studies in Horticulture, Design, and Landscape Architecture. Earthly Sites opened in 2003.
Ingrid brings a melange of perspectives and skills to Earthly Sites, with her focus on connecting people with Nature.
The Team
At Earthly Sites, our team includes dedicated horticulturalists, creatives, landscapers and builders.
We're much like the gardens we create: diverse, dynamic and balanced. We believe a garden's essence is defined by the vibrant life it supports, and the essence of our organization is defined by our relationships and love of nature.
Ingrid and her crew have done an excellent job with our garden.
First, they reworked our backyard. Ingrid was patient in finding changes/solutions that worked better for us and the health of the garden. We are thrilled with the end result.
Recently, we pulled the plug our on water sucking lawn and replaced it with a beautiful native/drought tolerant design which has added enormous curb appeal to our home. Ingrid brought a vision together that we could never have done on our own. She was endlessly patient with us as we evolved our plan, including lighting, which we love.
Ingrid and her crew also provide monthly maintenance, keeping everything healthy and looking great. I appreciate that Ingrid is very professional and easy to work with; fees are clearly stated, communication is never an issue, D.S., Alameda
